THE JOURNAL OF A CONFIDENCE COACH & PHOTOGRAPHER
Unfiltered. Just like my photography.
Consider this my little corner of the internet where the filter comes off. I'm sharing the tips I wish someone had told me earlier, the stories that still make me laugh, the lessons that came the hard way, and everything in between. Whether you're a business owner trying to figure out how to show up online, or just someone who wants to stop dreading the camera, you're in the right place. Twenty-two years of experience, zero fluff. Welcome to my journal.
Why can’t I just say I did the thing?
I cannot, for the life of me, talk about my work in a social setting without immediately deflecting. Someone asks what I do, and I’ll say “oh, I’m a photographer”, and then if they ask anything follow-up — anything at all — I go oh, you don’t want to hear about that.
You’re Seeing the Outcome, Not the Cost
If you told me five years ago I’d be out here taking my own branding photos… smiling… posing… and actually enjoying it? I would’ve laughed in your face. Respectfully. But aggressively. And yet—here we are. Turns out confidence wasn’t the issue…
I just needed a minute (or some practice) to get comfortable being seen.
I Asked AI to Photograph Me (And It Taught Me Why Personal Branding Photography Still Matters)
I uploaded my photos to AI and asked it to create a comprehensive personal brand image library for my website, social media, and LinkedIn. Essentially, a complete set of personal branding photos without doing a photoshoot.
And the results?
Honestly… technically impressive.
The lighting was nice.
The skin looked smooth.
There was a laptop, a coffee cup, a workspace, a camera, even a whiteboard — everything you would expect from a business heads
Personal Branding Photography vs Headshots: What’s the Difference (Really)?
Women rarely come to me saying, “I want personal branding photography.”
They usually say, “I just need a new headshot.”
But what they’re really saying is:
“I don’t like my current photos.”
“I avoid posting because I hate how I look.”
“My business has evolved, but my photos haven’t.”
